the paw and snout - Trusted Professional Pet Care Service
Our Dog Walking Services /House visitS HOW IS THE time calculatED?
The time of your walk starts at the time we pull up to your door to the time we leave your house. We are happy to do the extras like feed your pet, put on pet clothing etc., but it is factored in to the time you have booked. We have a schedule and need to keep to it so the next customer is not late.
Pet Boarding/Sitting Solutions: How LONG WILL MY PET BE ALONE & WHAT IS CHECK IN CHECK OUT TIME
Our Pet Sitters will not be at your home 24 hrs a day. Some have jobs and some do walks. Pets are allowed to be left for a normal working hour day. However if there are issues such as medications or they are seniors and need a pee a break our people who do walks can visit your pet during the day so they are not alone any longer than 4 hrs. Just let us know during the meet and greet. Boardings are generally calculated on a 4pm to 4pm time frame. If you need us to come earlier or stay later please let us know.
what Payments do you take and what are payment terms?
We are a small business and appreciate timely payments. You may add a credit card to your "Time To Pet" (our booking app) account where your services are automatically billed. You do not need to worry about security as these are processed through Stripe and your card is masked where we cannot even see all the details or cvv2 codes etc. You may also pay via e transfer and send to payments@thepawandsnout.ca after each week or you may leave us cash. Walks and House visits not cancelled by 6pm the previous day will incur a $20 late cancellation fee. Those not cancelled at all and we show up for service will be charged the entire booking cost. See our cancellation policy in our Time to Pet" app that will be on your profile. Boarding is a bit different. For Invoices not paid after 21 days a late fee of $5 per week will be charged. If no payment has been received after 45 days any services will be suspended. If no payments after 60 days the account will be turned over to a collection agency. We are a small local business where every dollar counts so we do appreciate prompt payment.
All boardings/pet sitting require a 50% deposit upon the time a boarding is accepted. Until a deposit is made the boarding is not considered booked. The remaining 50% is due no later than 7 days before the boarding commences. Failure to pay before the boarding is to start, your boarding will not occur and your deposit forfeit. 100% of the boarding fee must be paid before the boarding starts...there will be NO exceptions.See our cancellation policy that will be in your profile or if you are not yet a customer and considering our professional boarding service you can email services@thepawandsnout.ca for more details.
How late can I book services?
For Walks and Pet Visits you may book up until 6pm the night before. Please note that some days we are very full and last minute bookings may or may not be accepted. Booking in advance is always best. For Pet Sitting / Boarding you can book anytime up to 3 days prior to your departure or last minute for emergencies. But we have a limited amount of resources who can Pet Sit so the longer in advance you book, the better chance you will have of getting the boarding accepted. We are very busy around any holiday, Summer and December-February (vacations).

FAQ'S

Every day we have different dogs. Some pups are occasional, some come a few regular days and others 5 days a week. We often also receive last minute emergency requests. Every day will be a different grouping of dogs. 90% of all clients all want 11am to 1pm which of course we cannot accommodate so we have to walk/visit some outside of this time. With a strain on time and the price of fuel we have to make routes up based upon areas and consider the requested times. We try and be as close as possible. But we have to do routes. If we have 2 dogs in Parkland and 1 in Seton, we will not do a Parkland visit then run way over to Seton then back to Parkland again. That is not only expensive on fuel but takes a lot of driving time reducing the amount of walks we can do and pushes back other pups time. Therefore in this example the two Parkland dogs will be done back to back and as close to time as we can get. Your flexibility is appreciated. So far we have been pretty good at walking 95% of all dogs within an hour of their requests. We will email or text anyone if we have to come earlier or later and ensure the times will work.
why are my walks/visits not always the exact time I request?
HOW DO Boarding Payments WORK?
what does our insurance cover?
Our insurance covers us for liability. It covers pets and your house/contents for items and events where we were deemed to be negligent. Ex We let your dog off leash and it got hit by a car. For pets who sustain injuries in our care but where we are not at fault in any way the insurance will often cover but it does have a $500 deductible. There are further details which you may find under "Liability" in section 4 of the client agreement.
